BEAUTIFULL UKUNDA

If you want to breathe the fresh ocean breeze, lie on the beach and relax from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi – Ukunda is the right place to be.


I got to Mombasa by bus form Nairobi and from there by taxi for 20$ to Ukunda.


Ukunda is a coastal town in the southern part of Mombasa mainly inhabited by Mijikenda (nine tribes) from the coast of Kenya. It paves the way to Diani beach which is a major tourist attraction.



From Mombasa city to Ukunda you need to use a ferry to get there.
In Ukunda, there are many different hotels and cottages of your choice.




I stayed at the Hillpark beach Resort.
Its not the cheapest ($60 a night for two) but the hotel has a large lovely garden and offers wonderful views of the ocean.




Offering an outdoor pool and a fitness centre, this resort is located in Tiwi, just 19.3 km from Mombasa.



The distance to Moi international airport, 20.9 km from the hotel. The hotel has a year-round outdoor pool and sun terrace, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or a drink at the bar. Each room is equipped with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Some rooms feature a Seating area to relax in after a busy day. You will find an electric kettle in the room. The rooms are fitted with a private bathroom. Superior rooms have a Spa bath.I stayed in a separate cottage closer to the ocean.



At the bar i ordered Breakfast and dinner once on the day of departure.It is good to have Breakfast for a good price



The rest of the time i cooked for myself in the cottage.One day I bought an octopus from a local fisherman and i cooked it.I loved it!



The water in the ocean is warm 24 hours a day. I have left unforgettable impression of this place!!!
