EFFECTS OF HEALTH RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ON SERVICE DELIVERY; A CASE STUDY OF NYERI COUNTY REFERRAL HOSPITAL.

Record keeping in any institution is the most vital tool that builds or destroys it. Therefore, maintenance of proper records is very important in providing quality services. An institution which has a good records management system provides timely and effective health records. The general aim of this study is to point out the gaps in the health management systems of Nyeri county referral hospital.in the recent past many patients have complained of long waiting time and missed file and wrong appointment dates and many other problems.

As a patient at Nyeri county referral hospital, I have observed these problems and found out that the number of patients exceed the number of health workers and this a major issue with delivering services.  It would really improve service delivery in the hospital if the county government would use more health workers.
